This is an unusual tea for Korean tea producers. The higher oxidation rate makes a unique taste and aroma profile that has resonance with a Wuyishan Oolong but remains distinctly Korean.
“Mr Jun” 2016 Hong Cha 95% Oxidation
Leaf: Matt chocolate brown, whole small rolled leaves with the aroma of hay.
Brewed colour: Bright amber to sparkling tourmaline.
Aroma: Aromatics of stone fruits, honey and malt.
Taste: Malt, apricots and tobacco sweetness with a hint of caramelised rice. A little drying on the palate but with low astringency.
