This is a very rare and difficult to obtain tea. Master Oh of the Puruncha Tea Culture & Research Institute hand makes this tea once a year for distribution within the Institute. It is not available in shops or on-line.
This is an organically produced tea, finished in a heated earthenware pan, instead of the usual metal one. The collecting, withering and then heat finishing is all done in one 24 hour period exclusively by Mrs Oh and her small team.
“Mrs Oh" Puruncha “Blue Tea” 2016
Leaf: A mottled light and dark brown, largish, whole twisted leaf. Aroma of cocoa.
Brewed colour: Surprisingly pale, light and clear, as like a yellow diamond.
Aroma: Meadows, fields and wild flowers.
Taste: Layering of marzipan, delicate mint and woody notes. A short clear finish leaving a lingering perception of sweet pencil shavings.
